Awesome segment! Very real and an excellent comfort to those of us going through this and feeling like what we think, feel, and do are "wrong" or "crazy." We are doing what we need to survive.

It's really good, Deanna. Even my DH is having dreams about what came out of me last week - he was describing one from last night today, saying how strange it was, and I won't go to into details but it's so obviously connected to the bleeding and passing of tissue. I think I held the placenta at one stage, though I never saw the baby (maybe too small as it died at 6/7 weeks?). I wish I had kept it too. It's horrible but important to read about women going through this.

Thank you ladies for your encouragement.

Melinda and Stella are the primary characters and will have the most POV. Melinda will show the most growth through the book--she is going to take the greatest risk in the end. Right now the book is pretty evenly divided, I just didn't put up Janet's section or Dot's section or Tina's new one. I have written the scene that follows this one--you think this was tough, you should watch Gabriella digging through the trash in the dead of night and finally find what she's looking for.

Deanna these are the best lines in the book yet! (of what you have posted) “We’re just surviving. Survivors don’t have the luxury of acting like regular people. We do what we have to do to get by.”
This is exactly how I feel. I am pregnant again after a loss and have a really hard time getting people to understand what I am going through. On the outside to everyone I am having a carefree pregnancy. Little do they know. But Stella is exactly right. We are not "regular" people anymore and our behaviour seems strange to them. But really we are just trying to protect ourselves.

I think you did well with the transition from chat at the meeting to the heavy things most women feel very weird about having done or thought. I personally am obsessed with where my baby is since the hospital had him, and he went to pathology, and then who knows where? The nurse actually said "out with the other medical waste" so it keeps me wondering. Very real and I can relate.

Good work!

Very powerful Deanna. Great writing. Is the whole book told from Melinda's perspective? You seem to reference her point of view a lot.

I'm stunned--just totally stunned. For once I can't think of anything to say. It's like going back and reading through the pages and pages at the m/c forum, and I'm sure the chapter will get heavier as women begin to share their stories (or whatever you have planned for Chapter 4). Don't stop, Deanna, it's a story that needs to be told from our viewpoint.

Oh wow. This one was heavy, I can't exactly place why I am, but I'm crying. I think because of the freezer - when I lost mine, I put him in the freezer until we could buy a tree and bury him.

It's very well written, Deanna.
